As the official roadshow of Wunderbar Together, the PopUp Tour combines an impressive culture tent with mobile container exhibits and various pop-up edutainment elements. Programs range from business conferences, science slams, art exhibits, concerts or interactive student-focused events to panel discussions on future-oriented issues such as future of work, digitalization and sustainability. With stops in Chicago, Atlanta, and Portland, the PopUp Tour showcases German business and culture in the U.S. and highlights the close economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
The first stop on the PopUp Tour took place from April 26 – May 5, 2019 at Germany Week, which turned Chicago’s Daley Plaza in into an innovative showcase of German culture, art, science, and business. We are very happy to announce that we had 21,000 attendees throughout the week with 3,800 guests attending the opening ceremony on Friday, April 26.
The Wunderbar Together PopUp Tour is proud to cooperate with an impressive group of German companies: BASF, BMW Group, Siemens AG, Bayer AG, Daimler AG, Evonik Industries AG, SAP, Schaeffler, Allianz, Lufthansa, Lanxess, and Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany.
On the first stop of the PopUp Tour in Chicago, German companies BASF, Siemens AG, SAP, and Allianz hosted a series of interactive exhibits and discussions. The programs allowed visitors to score a goal in a virtual soccer game, learn about mega-trends in chemistry that impact everyday life, and interact with experts in the fields of energy, sustainability, the future of work in the digital age, climate change, and technology innovation.
Another business highlight of the first stop was the Work Awesome conference, which will also travel with the PopUp Tour to Atlanta and Portland, helped connect experts, innovators and creators around the topic of the future of work – from small businesses to large transatlantic organizations.
The PopUp Tour will continue traveling through the United States this year!
